Jack and Family,

My name is Alan Simms and my wife, daughter, and I came in your restaurant about a month ago on a Friday night for the first time and I just wanted to let you know how good it was.

Your wife would remember us, she and your daughter talked to us at our table. We had come to Baldwin to eat at Everybody’s but when we got there they had closed early and would not let us in. We were on our way back to Jacksonville and we saw your restaurant so we stopped in. I have to say it was the best dinner out that we have had in a long time. From the time we walked in the door the lady who sat us was so friendly and the waitress was great also. Your wife stopped by to refill our drinks and started talking to us and it was great.

We were telling her how I was going to enter my first BBQ contest at the end of July and she was telling us how you started out. When we left she gave us one of your ribs and a piece of your brisket to try when we got home and I wanted to tell you it was great.

I also have to thank you for helping me come up with a name for my cook team. On our way home from Fat Jack’s we were tossing out different names for my cook team and we came up with Chubby Alan’s BBQ. Everyone I have told this to likes it, if we would not have stopped by your place that night we may still be trying to come up with a name.

Thank you again for a great dinner. It is so hard to find a place to eat now days that you actually feel welcome when you come in, get great service, and great food. Keep up the good work and we will be back.
